WEINIG Unimat 17A – Universal moulder
The WEINIG Unimat 17A is a universal moulder with straightening capability for planing and profiling wood. It combines face and edge straightening with subsequent machining on multiple spindles. Typical applications include producing wooden strips and profiled components.
The working width is 170 mm and the working height is 120 mm. Different spindle arrangements allow the machine configuration to suit the machining task.
Operation and construction
The continuous feed is infinitely adjustable using a handwheel with a speed indicator. A 2 m straightening table supports the workpiece at the infeed. Adjustment levers allow the straightening table and right-hand fence to be set for stock removal of up to 10 mm.
The narrow, low-profile longitudinal support facilitates tool changes on the vertical spindles. Pressure bars and guides are readily accessible. The short distance between the horizontal moulding spindles is particularly relevant to strip production.
The rubber feed rollers have individual height adjustments independent of the central adjustment. A spring-loaded pressure support after the top spindle assists workpiece guidance.

Applications
The Unimat 17A is suitable for through-feed straightening, planing and profiling of wooden workpieces. Its different spindle arrangements and available universal spindle provide various machining possibilities, particularly for strip production. The actual spindle configuration, motor ratings and optional equipment determine the capabilities of an individual machine.
