WEINIG Rondamat 930 – Profile knife grinder

The WEINIG Rondamat 930 is a profile knife grinder for producing and resharpening profile knives used in woodworking. A template transfers the profile shape to the knives mounted in the cutterhead, allowing users to produce their own profiles and resharpen existing knives while retaining the profile.

Machining and Machine Configuration

The grinding unit swivels to set the back and side clearance angles. A stepped pulley provides four grinding wheel speeds. Equipment includes a diamond dressing device with a vernier scale, taper-mounted grinding wheel holders and a coolant tank with a sludge compartment. The 930 is documented as the standard version for HL, HSS and Stellite knives.

Documented standard equipment includes grinding wheels for rough-grinding and resharpening HSS knives, two grinding wheel holders, a 40 mm mounting arbor, template material, a dressing diamond and tracing pins.

Special equipment and model variants

Variable speed control: Offered as optional equipment instead of the four fixed speed settings.
Larger tool widths: Optional equipment for 350 mm wide cutterheads; a version for 410 mm knife width is also listed. These capacities are not part of the standard version.
Template production: Tool kit including an electric hardening furnace.
Grinding accessories: Borazon and diamond grinding wheels and additional mounting arbors with a choice of diameters.
Straight planer knives: A fixture for grinding knives up to 230 mm long outside the cutterhead.
WEINIG Constant tooling: A setting device for tools with a repeatable cutting circle.
Rondamat 930 L: A separate version for grinding woodturning lathe knives.

Application and classification

The machine is intended for tool preparation and maintenance in woodworking businesses producing their own profiles. The technical data refer to the version in the joint German-language Rondamat 930/931 brochure; the year of manufacture and equipment of an individual machine may differ. The separately archived Dutch/French leaflet gives different motor ratings of approximately 1.0/1.2 kW. These figures are not combined with the 1.1 kW version.
