Raimann (Weinig) KS 310 BV – Multi-blade rip saw with cutting width adjustment
The Raimann KS 310 is a multi-blade rip saw for longitudinal cutting of solid wood. Several saw blades mounted on a common spindle divide the workpiece into different widths in a single pass. The standard cutting width is 310 mm and the feed chain is 340 mm wide.
The machine belongs to the historical KS series manufactured by Interholz Raimann. It is listed in the machine archive under Raimann (Weinig).
The KS 310 BV adds cutting width adjustment to the base machine. Movable saw blades allow the cutting width to be changed by adjusting their positions. This enables the cutting pattern to be adapted to different workpiece widths and cutting requirements. The number and adjustment range of the movable blades, as well as their controls, depend on the individual version.
Operation and construction
A closed precision feed chain made of special cast iron transports the workpiece through the machine. The chain runs in two prism guides. Interlocking chain links limit the entry of timber debris into the drive mechanism.
The saw spindle is supported by two large ball bearings. A clamping device assists with tool changes. The extended feed chain facilitates workpiece loading.
The cutting height depends on the pressure system fitted. The documented heights are 120 mm without the pressure rake and 105 mm with the pressure rake.
On the BV version, movable saw blades are positioned using sliding heads. The series brochure describes different sliding heads and control arrangements for movable blades. The equipment fitted to a particular KS 310 BV must be established from the individual machine.

The numerical specifications are taken from the technical table for the KS 310 base machine and provide an overview of the series. The brochure contains no separate specification column for the KS 310 BV. Specifications and working limits must therefore be checked on the individual BV machine, particularly the cutting height with movable blades and the minimum workpiece length.
The maximum saw motor power represents the upper limit listed for the documented series. The installed power and other equipment must be checked on the individual machine.
Applications
The KS 310 is suitable for producing strips, blanks and other solid wood components. It performs several parallel longitudinal cuts in a single pass and can be integrated into a cutting process using loading and conveying systems. Working limits and performance depend on the tools, pressure system and optional equipment.
Cutting width adjustment supports tasks with changing width requirements and allows the cutting pattern to be adapted to the available timber.
